Flexible loudspeakers? What else would you expect from the company that pioneered electronically steerable arrays; Duran Audio are a company that never stops thinking.

The latest loudspeaker products from the AXYS R&D lab are the Flex U-12G2, U-14G2 and UFM-265 . But why flexible, are Duran making arrays that you can bend now? Not yet, but who knows what the future holds, these new products are the latest generation of the companies highly successful Flex range. Flexible because of the amount of applications that these units can be used for, they are ideal for use in Theatre as: Front Fills, Under Balcony Fills, Surround Loudspeakers and Monitors whilst equally useful in the AV/Corporate world for Boardrooms & Presentation Audio and are an ideal choice for small bars and clubs. Being all things to all market segments doesn’t mean that the sound of the units is compromised though, the units remain true to Duran’s philosophy of “Total Transparency” and the U-12, U-14 and UFM-265 sound more like a touring ready studio monitors than a contractor product.

Both the U-12 and U-14 as well as the UFM-265 are fitted with built in amplification and a powerful DSP and are network ready so the units can be easily controlled and configured from the AXYS WinControl software. The U-12 consists of a 6.5” driver and a soft dome tweeter while the U-14 and UFM-265 boasts an additional 6.5” driver. Don’t be deceived by their compact dimensions though, these boxes pack a punch and have an amazing amount of low end for an enclosure of their size.
