NORTHRIDGE, CALIFORNIA, September 12, 2007 — Demonstrating the ability of JBL Professional loudspeakers from different product families to seamlessly integrate and maximize performance for specific applications, the new Palko nightclub in the Spanish city of Lucena (Cordoba) recently opened its doors. Palko comprises more than 4,000 square meters, with several rooms, a restaurant and outdoor terrace.
The main dance area, which covers more than 1,000 square meters, features a line array system comprised of 16 JBL VRX932LA portable line array loudspeakers, arranged in arrays of eight on each side of the main stage. The system is reinforced with six JBL VERTEC® VT4882 mid-size arrayable subwoofers, while an additional eight JBL AM4212/95 medium-power, 2-way loudspeakers are distributed throughout the main area.
The “Privee” room, designed for more intimate events and private parties, contains a system of JBL SRX715 2-way PA loudspeakers and SRX718S PA subwoofers, with JBL Control 29AV surface-mount loudspeakers providing additional reinforcement in the communal zones. Another smaller dance space (the “Platea” room) and the adjoining Pub are also outfitted with SRX715 loudspeakers and SRX718S subwoofers. Additionally, the dance floor on the outdoor terrace contains eight JBL SRX738 18-inch, 3-way loudspeakers, while the rest of the open area features 16 Control 29AV loudspeakers.

Lastly, the pizzeria restaurant inside Palko is equipped with Control 26CT and Control 24CT in-ceiling loudspeakers, as well as Control 25T surface mount loudspeakers. Crown CTs amplifiers power the entire system, which also includes Urei mixers, a dbx DriveRack 480 loudspeaker management system and a BSS BLU16 signal processor.
“The large variety of loudspeakers across JBL’s product families has enabled the designer to create the most optimum system for each space within Palko, given the acoustics and the programming demands,” said Jon Sager, Director of Installed Sound Market Development, JBL Professional. “This project is yet another example of JBL loudspeakers seamlessly integrating to maximize performance for specific applications.”
