RECORD PLANT REMOTE HITS THE ROAD WITH NEW ALL-DIGITAL TRUCK AND JBL LSR6300 STUDIO MONITORS

NEW YORK, NEW YORK, October 5, 2007 — Demonstrating the ability of JBL LSR Series studio monitors to provide unmatched sonic accuracy in any recording environment, Record Plant Remote has outfitted its new truck with LSR6300 studio monitors in a 5.1 surround sound configuration.

A leader in the mobile recording industry for more than 20 years, Record Plant Remote has captured and mixed live recordings of some of the biggest names in music, including Bruce Springsteen, The Rolling Stones, Billy Joel, Emmylou Harris, The Who, Toby Keith, and Mariah Carey. The company’s owner and chief engineer, Robert “Kooster” McAllister, earned a GRAMMY® Award as engineer/mixer of the compilation soundtrack for the feature film, “Standing In The Shadows of Motown.” Record Plant Remote has also earned seven TEC Awards.

The new Record Plant Remote truck houses an all-digital control room, with 96 input and 96 kHz/96 track recording capability with an additional 96 backup tracks. When deciding on an appropriate studio monitor for the truck, McAllister heeded the advice of a couple of the industry’s most respected recording engineers.

“I was recently in Boston recording a Rolling Stones concert when I mentioned to Ed Cherney that I was putting the new truck together, and he recommended the JBL LSR6300’s,” McAllister said. “A couple of months later, I was working on the ‘Nashville Star’ television show, when Chuck Ainlay also recommended the LSR’s. Those are two good friends and two highly respected engineers, and when I heard the monitors for myself, I really enjoyed them.”

Since installing JBL LSR6300 Series monitors, McAllister appreciates the speakers’ ability to overcome the effect of standing waves in the control room. Additionally, the reliability of the LSR monitors supports McAllister’s requirements for running a successful business. “We have been successful for a long time, and have won several awards, and it all comes down to having a really good crew and equipment you can rely on,” he said. “In turn, the reliability of the LSR’s was another reason we chose them for the new truck.”
