MPRO 400 SERIES SPEAKERS FROM
JBL PROFESSIONAL OFFERS
POWERED AND UNPOWERED SUBWOOFER

The new MPro model MP418S and MP418SP are powerful, single 18-inch (457mm) subwoofers in compact bass reflex enclosures. The MP418SP features an integral, versatile dual channel amplifier/ signal processing module designed and built by Crown Audio specifically for the MP418SP. This amplifier provides two channels of power with 660 watts at 4 ohms. The second amplifier channel can be used to power a second subwoofer or a full range speaker such as the MP410 10-inch two way speaker, that can be affixed atop the MP418 via 35mm (13/8") pole. The model 418S is a non-amplified version of the MP418SP.

The versatile Crown power module for the MP418SP is installed in the rear of the subwoofer enclosure. Each of the amplifier channels has its own level control to set balance between the sub and the mid-high speaker as well as three status LEDs. A pair of XLR / 1/4" combo connectors accommodate either a mono or a stereo input. A rear panel switch selects between two operational modes - the SUB+SUB mode, in which the external amp channel drives a passive subwoofer, or the SUB+SAT mode in which the external amp channel drives a mid-high satellite. A Polarity switch is also provided. A pair of line-level XLR jacks serve as Through or High-Pass outputs depending on the mode selected.

Both models have the JBL 2241G 457mm (18-inch) transducer, featuring JBL's Vented Gap Cooling™ (VGC) for unsurpassed performance. This transducer can handle up to 600 watts (1200 watts peak). The cabinets, built using 18mm plywood and durable tongue and groove construction techniques, are covered by Duraflex(tm) for longlasting service and reliability. Sturdy steel handles and a 16 gauge perforated steel grill are also included for roadworthiness.

The MP418S has dual Neutrik® Speakon® input connectors that may be reconfigured for pin 1 ± or pin 2 ± for compatibility for any cabling scheme. The MP418SP also features four heavy-duty steel casters on the rear of the enclosure for easy transport. The MP418S measures 616mm (24 1/4-inch) tall by 537mm (21 1/4-inch) wide by 597mm (23 1/2-inch) deep. The MP418SP measures 616mm (24 1/4-inch) tall by 537mm (21 1/4-inch) wide by 777mm (30 1/2-inch) deep.
