HIGH-PROFILE INSTALLATIONS DEMONSTRATE CONTINUED SUCCESS OF JBL PROFESSIONAL CONTROL 300 SERIES IN-CEILING LOUDSPEAKERS

NORTHRIDGE, CALIFORNIA, December 4, 2007 — Since the introduction of the JBL Professional Control 300 Series large-format in-ceiling loudspeakers, systems integrators have utilized the product’s smooth coverage and ease of installation in installations of all sizes and scopes.

“Since its introduction, the Control 300 Series has been utilized by systems integrators to provide high-level, aesthetically discrete sound reinforcement systems across a spectrum of fixed-install applications, including hotels, casinos and community centers,” said Rick Kamlet, Director of Marketing, Commercial Sound, JBL Professional. Two cases in point are the historic US Grant Hotel ballrooms and the Zion Lutheran Christian Life Center.

Audio Associates of La Mesa, CA recently completed the installation of a new sound system in the historic U.S. Grant Hotel in San Diego. The Hotel contains 33,000 square feet of ballroom and event space. Audio Associates was called upon to design and install a state-of-the-art audio system throughout the Hotel.

Audio Associates opted for the JBL Control 300 Series large-format in-ceiling loudspeakers, taking advantage of their broadband pattern control and ease of installation. The system features 70 JBL Control 328CT and 112 322CT in-ceiling loudspeakers, along with 284 JBL Control 26-DT loudspeakers.

“Since the Hotel re-opened, the loudspeakers have performed exceptionally,” said Steve Barnes of Audio Associates. “The speakers were easy to install, which saved us a significant amount of time during the project, and their performance gives the Hotel a lower cost of investment on the technology.”

Additionally, Zion Lutheran Church’s Christian Life Center in Grand Rapids, MN recently underwent a retrofit. The Christian Life Center is a 100 x 60-foot open space, which doubles as a gymnasium and fellowship hall, hosting a range of church-related activities and events. Dallas Anderson of Tricorne Audio performed an acoustical analysis of the Christian Life Center and hung approximately 40 baffles for acoustical treatment. Using an EASE model to determine the best configuration of the loudspeakers, Anderson chose a distributed system with four rows, each with three JBL Control 321 in-ceiling loudspeakers.

“The Control 321’s were perfect for this project—we got plenty of low end out of them and they’re ready to go right out of the box,” Anderson said. “The coverage was very smooth, which has been a problem in the past with other coax speakers. The Control 321’s did exactly what the EASE models showed they would do.”

The Control 300 Series large format in-ceiling loudspeakers consists of six full-range point-source coax designs featuring 8” and 12” drivers, multiple power levels and transformer options, plus a 12” in-ceiling subwoofer.
