JBL PROFESSIONAL INTRODUCES REVOLUTIONARY

LONDON, ENGLAND, September 11, 2005 — Bringing more options to installers wishing to visually integrate their audio systems into a variety of environments, JBL Professional is now offering its successful VRX portable line array series in white installation versions.

Significant interest from specifiers and permanent installation contractors who work with civic facilities and house-of-worship venues has led to the development of the popular VRX system models in white: VRX932LA-WH and VRX918S-WH. The addition of available white models designed specifically for permanent installations builds on the success of the VRX series, which brings the proven versatility and performance of the JBL VERTEC? series line array to performers and smaller venues.

“While high-quality audio is the foundation of JBL’s enduring success, we also realize the importance of having powerful, high-fidelity sound in a visually discreet package,” said Ted Leamy, Director, Engineered Sound Marketing, JBL Professional. “JBL is committed to providing a complete solution to its customers, part of which includes having a variety of options for different market applications, especially when it comes to the aesthetics of a system.”

The VRX932LA-WH is a compact 12-inch, two-way line array loudspeaker designed for arrays of up to six units. Each speaker has a 15-degree (nominal) vertical coverage angle. This means that a single enclosure or arrays consisting of 2 or 3 speakers can provide consistent, cost effective and therefore practical vertical coverage to permanent installations where line arrays are applicable. Its design features patented technology in both the horn design and in JBL’s innovative Differential Drive® low-frequency transducers for light weight and high power handling.

The VRX918S-WH subwoofer is an 18-inch low-frequency speaker system, also utilizing JBL Differential Drive technology. It is intended for use as a high-performance satellite subwoofer or as a building block for larger arrays. Acoustically identical to the SRX718S, the VRX918S-WH is designed to meet the needs of users who wish to incorporate white-finished subwoofers into permanently installed flying VRX arrays. This is accomplished through suspension hardware modeled on the same innovative design used for the VRX Series VRX932LA-WH.
