JBL PROFESSIONAL VERTEC® SERIES LINE ARRAYS AND CLAIR BROTHERS STOP THE SHOW AT ATLANTIC CITY’S SHOWBOAT CASINO

NORTHRIDGE, CALIFORNIA, March 29, 2004 — Reaffirming the performance superiority and unmatched versatility and reliability of JBL’s VERTEC Series line arrays, industry-leading sound provider, Clair Brothers Systems, has just completed the installation of a new JBL Professional VERTEC system at the Mississippi Ballroom of the Showboat Casino in Atlantic City. The new system, used onsite for the casino’s major shows, conventions and concerts, comprises 12 VT4888 midsize line array enclosures and 12 VT4881 subwoofers. Owned by the Harrah’s Group, The Showboat Casino has received numerous magazine awards for “Best Casino” in Atlantic City and has a reputation for putting on shows with very high production values in a Mardi Gras style.

“The proven acoustical performance of VERTEC has allowed Clair Brothers and the Showboat Casino to construct arrays that are ideal for this application,” said Ted Leamy , Director of Engineered Sound Marketing, JBL Professional. “When the performance of your business enterprise is contingent on the performance of loudspeakers as working tools, there’s no safer bet than the power and versatility of JBL’s VERTEC line. We are very pleased to partner with Clair Brothers to provide them with the components that help maintain the incredibly high standards they’ve set for themselves. We’re equally pleased to see Clair providing the Showboat with a loudspeaker system that will perform optimally and continually deliver a return on their investment and many hours of high-quality entertainment for their customers.”

The VT4888 enclosures and VT4881 subwoofers are powered by Crown MA5002 Macrotech amplifiers. The VT4888 is a mid-size, three-way, high directivity line array using 12-inch woofers and incorporating JBL’s advanced Neodymium Differential Drive® components. Light in weight, they are ideal for ballroom, concert club or convention center use where either portability or ease of rigging are critical without sacrificing high performance. The VT4881 subwoofers are fitted with 15-inch, dual coil loudspeakers capable of 3-inch peak-to-peak excursion, which results in true, 18Hz performance.

“In the bid process we went through,” stated Jim Devenney, Installation Manager at Clair Brothers Systems, “The client stipulated VERTEC in their equipment list. They had tried them as a rental before and liked the coverage and vocal articulation that the VERTEC line has become known for.”

Clair Brothers’ proprietary wedges and drum monitors and side-fills featuring JBL Professional component transducers round out the loudspeaker contingent.
