| FRANKFURT,
GERMANY, 29 March 2006 — Building on the global
success of the VERTEC® line array series, JBL Professional announces
the successful deployment of its midsize VT4888 line array system
at Rome’s legendary Auditorium Parco della Musica by Madema
Spa. Located in Rome, Madema specializes in concert-quality audio
system design and rental projects where high fidelity and advanced
technology are a priority.
 A multi-hall
complex, the famed Auditorium Parco della Musica relies on
up to 88 pieces of Madema’s VT4888 midsize line
array inventory at any given time when all three of the onsite
performance stages are active. The Parco della Musica, designed
by internationally-renowned architect Renzo Piano, is a modern
concert hall complex that makes extensive use of wood in its
design and construction. The venue’s various performance
spaces are intended for multi-purpose use in addition to the
support of classical music productions, and host a broad variety
of concerts and special events.
The complex’s
three different performance spaces each have a different capacity
(2800, 1200, and 700 seats) and characteristics,
with each designed for flexibility of use for different types
of productions. The 2800-seat concert hall is intended for symphony
concerts, composed of a large orchestra and choir. The 1200-seat
concert hall features adjustable stage and seating, according
to the performance's requirements, allows a fine-tuning of the
reverberation time to accommodate a large orchestra with choir,
or ballets, or contemporary music. The 700-seat concert hall
is equipped with an orchestra pit and fly tower, similar to the
configuration of a traditional theatre.
“Madema is an excellent example of a regional sound reinforcement
rental company able to take tour-proven technologies and advanced
system design techniques, and leverage them to meet the performance-venue
needs of a contemporary multi-purpose facility,” noted
David Scheirman, Vice President, Tour Sound for JBL Professional “With
experience gained on a broad range of concert, broadcast and
special-event productions, here Madema has designed an integrated
package of audio products and services that address the demanding
needs of this world-class facility.”
JBL’s midsize VT4888 system is a lightweight, powerful
line array element, fully compatible with other system models
in the VERTEC line. Its dual 12", three-way design offers
full-range performance in a road-ready package weighing only
49 kg (108 lb) including integral suspension hardware.
