FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA, October 28, 2004 — At AES 2004,
JBL Professional is announcing the addition of the PD5322/43
to its renowned Precision Directivity? line. The PD5322/43 adds
a 40 x 30-degree full-range coverage option to the existing PD5000
offerings.
These large-format
horn-loaded enclosures are designed for use in medium to large
venues requiring excellent pattern control
with uncompromised frequency response in a form not much larger
than the largest three-way AE models. In keeping with JBL’s
reputation for consistency across product lines, the PD5322/43
is voiced similarly to other PD and AE products. In addition,
all models share common dimensions for ease of designing compact,
high-power arrays and are available in the most popular coverage
patterns.
Featured across the PD5000 Series are newly developed 24 by
24-inch PT™ Progressive Transition? mid-frequency rotatable
waveguides that provide versatility, excellent pattern control
with low distortion and extremely natural sound character.
This is an evolution of the waveguide technology of the successful
JBL Professional Application Engineered? (AE) install series.
The PD5322/43 also incorporates sophisticated, steep-slope
passive crossover networks that minimize band overlap, further
enhancing off-axis pattern control. User-accessible internal
switches allow for a fully active crossover, with JBL providing
dsp settings for the popular Harman Pro dsp platforms including
BSS, dbx and Crown.
Ted Leamy, Director
of Engineered Sound Marketing for JBL Professional stated, “This
latest model, along with the companion low-frequency enclosures,
give sound designers all the necessary coverage patterns
and tools to create, highly directive, low-profile arrays including
simply implemented steered arrays.”
