JBL PROFESSIONAL PRECISION DIRECTIVITY PD5000 LOUDSPEAKERS PERFORM AT

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA, March 19, 2004 — Underscoring the sonic performance and installation versatility of its new Precision Directivity™ PD line of advanced loudspeakers, JBL Professional today announced the recent successful installation of six PD5200/95 mid-high systems, six CST21DQ Diamond Quad Array Low Frequency systems, and four Dual 18” 4642A Subwoofers at the Science Spectrum Omni Theater in Lubbock, Texas. Six fullrange clusters, each consisting of one PD5200/95 covering mid and high frequencies and one CST21DQ for lows are suspended behind the 90' high by 75' wide perforated viewing screen.

The installation, completed in February of this year, was part of a multi-tier system overhaul at the Science Spectrum Omni Theater, the centerpiece which is a large film format “Giant Screen Theatre” showing primarily nature, science and space flight features accompanied by sophisticated, highly dramatic multi-channel soundtracks that require versatile, high performance sound systems. The Omni Theater is part of Science Spectrum, a non-profit museum for science education with over 250 interactive exhibits, live animals and science demonstrations and a living science exhibit.

Commenting on the installation, Wes Wise, Director of the Science Spectrum, explained, “With JBL Professional's Precision Directivity speakers for giant screen theatres, the low-end really thumps, the mids are mellow, and the highs are crisp and clean. Overall, these speakers leave you buried in your seat.”

Chuck Goodsell, Director of Cinema Marketing at JBL Professional, sees the installation of JBL Professional PD5000 Series loudspeakers at the Omni Theater as a testament to how JBL Professional can partner with contractors, consultants and their clients to provide the correct system solution for each application, “At JBL Professional, we seek to provide the industry's most comprehensive line of loudspeakers,” Goodsell said today. “And because every speaker we make is designed by the same people in Northridge, customers can be certain that each is optimized to sound great with loudspeakers from other JBL Professional product lines. This is exactly the case with the Science Spectrum Omni Theater.”
