JBL VERTEC® LINE EXTENDED WITH
NEW VT4882 MIDSIZE ARRAYBLE SUBWOOFER

New Model Extends VERTEC’s Capabilities, Enables Matched Arrays
With VT4888 Midsize Line Array Element

NORTHRIDGE, OCTOBER 28, 2004 — JBL Professional has announced the availability of the new VT4882 midsize arrayable subwoofer, a useful addition to the industry-leading VERTEC? product line. Like its companion, the midsize VT4888 line array element, the VT4882 subwoofer module has been designed with premium audio fidelity, high output power, lightweight system packaging and ease of use in mind. Appropriate for concert touring firms, A/V rental companies, and live-performance venues alike, the VT4882 is designed for deployment in theaters, auditoriums, arenas, houses of worship, and performing arts centers, providing audio professionals with a broad, flexible range of sound reinforcement solutions.

The VT4882 is fitted with JBL’s advanced Differential Drive® dual voice-coil loudspeaker technology. A pair of JBL’s new neodymium 2266H 15” (381 mm) woofers energize the PlyMax™ engineered-panel enclosure, which is finished with JBL’s rugged DuraFlex™ coating and fitted with both NL4 and NL8 connectors. The system includes integral suspension hardware and is designed to complement other models in the VERTEC line, both mechanically and acoustically. Pre-configured to accept JBL’s upcoming Drive-Pack™ amplification technology, the VT4882 has standardized mechanical and electrical fittings to receive future, optional self-powered electronics packages. A wheeled transport dolly and rugged soft cover is contained in the available VT4882-ACC Accessory Kit.

“Since the line was first launched in 2000, VERTEC has gained worldwide acceptance as the premier live sound reinforcement line array system,” offered David Scheirman, Director, Tour Sound for JBL Professional. “With the addition of the VT4882 midsize subwoofer, system users have an important new option for system configuration.”

The VT4882 midsize subwoofer module offers a frequency range of 28-120 Hz with a maximum peak output of 137 db, 1 m. The pair of 2266H woofers gives the system a 4800W peak input power rating (1200-2400 Watts of amplifier power recommended). Weighing only 52 kg (114.6 lb), including integral suspension hardware, the VT4882 packs a lot of punch in a modest size, measuring 457 x 1013 x 858 mm (18 x 39 x 33.8 in). The unit can be directly coupled to VT4888 and other VERTEC array elements in hanging or ground-based applications.
