| NORTHRIDGE,
CA, August 4, 2004 — In a unique demonstration
of JBL VERTEC’s® ability to provide powerful, dynamic audio
support while maintaining a discreet physical appearance for
high-profile corporate staging events, rental sound provider
On Stage Audio (OSA) International provided McDonald’s
Corporation’s worldwide convention with its trademark high-quality
audio services. Held April 19-22, 2004, at the Orange County
Convention Center in Orlando, FL, the meeting brought together
over 12,000 McDonald’s owner/operators from around the
globe.

High
Resolution Photos Because of
McDonald’s Corporation’s desire to keep
the audio components hidden, OSA International designer/engineer
Stan Dickerson sought to integrate the VERTEC speakers with the
massive video system on stage. “We needed a substantial
P.A. to fit in a very limited space between video screens that
were wrapped over the stage,” Dickerson said. “The
goal was to completely hide the P.A. behind four panels set between
five main video screens.”
To that end,
OSA International arranged four arrays of seven VT4888 clusters
for the main front PA. Additionally, OSA designed
a 160-degree arc of eight delay arrays 120 feet out from the
main system. Each signal-delayed array contained six VT4887 compact
line array elements and one VT4881 compact subwoofer. Altogether,
28 model VT4888’s were used, along with 48 VT4887’s,
12 VT4880 full-size subwoofers, and eight VT4881’s.
According
to Dickerson, the result was a powerful, low-profile, extensive
distributed P.A. that was zone-controllable with uniform
SPL throughout the room. “I especially like the VT4888’s
and VT4887’s,” Dickerson added. “The midsize
VT4888’s are capable of giving you a ‘big P.A.’ capability
while still being scalable for many smaller projects. The VT4887’s
are the perfect complement to the VT4888’s for many applications
such as center-fill, under-hang, or delay. The entire VERTEC
family has quickly become a set of indispensable tools in the
OSA inventory.”

and Chicago and can be contacted at www.osacorp.com . Stan Dickerson
