LAS VEGAS, NEVADA, March 13, 2007 — Los Angeles-based post-production company Pacific Soundwaves has recently mixed several television and feature film projects using the new JBL Professional 3631 ScreenArray® loudspeakers. The ScreenArray loudspeakers are located in Pacific Soundwaves’ feature film mix stage in its new facility in Burbank.
In summer 2006, Pacific Soundwaves added a new 11,000-square-foot facility in Burbank. The feature film mix stage in the Burbank facility is Dolby-tuned and features JBL 3631 ScreenArray systems for the screen channel speakers, an 18-inch JBL 4645C subwoofer for the LFE channel, while the surrounds consist of six JBL 8340A’s.
Among the recent projects Pacific Soundwaves has completed in its Burbank feature film mix stage include: feature film “Cheetah Girls 2”; “Raines,” a detective series starring Jeff Goldblum, scheduled to air this summer on NBC; “What If God Were The Sun?” a Lifetime drama series based on the John Edward novel; and trailers for the upcoming feature films “Color Me Kubrick” and “Severance.”
Needing an ideal mixing room for long-format projects, Pacific Soundwaves expanded to the new Burbank facility and JBL ScreenArray loudspeakers were a natural fit. “Sonic fidelity is obviously the top priority for any mix stage, and JBL has that covered,” said Stephen Clark, Owner of Pacific Soundwaves. “Beyond that, however, JBL ScreenArray loudspeakers are found in movie theaters around the world, so we also wanted to have a system that was as close to a real-world theater environment as possible.”
The new Burbank facility has proven to be a tremendous success, and the JBL ScreenArray speakers have met and exceeded expectations. “A lot of our clients have said it’s one of the best rooms they’ve ever heard,” Clark said.
