With A Wealth Of JBL VERTEC® Line Array Speakers, The Brunstad Conference Center Is Norway’s Largest Fixed-Installation Sound System

NORTHRIDGE, CALIFORNIA, October 11, 2004 — In a shining example of JBL Professional’s growing acceptance in the European market, the new main hall and facilities for The Christian Church in Norway opened its doors on July 11, 2004. Capable of seating an audience of 7,500, Oslo-based LydRommet designed and installed an expansive concert-quality sound reinforcement system using a range of JBL loudspeakers, marketing the largest fixed installation sound system in Norway and one of Europe’s largest house of worship installations.

The audio upgrade to the hall, known as the Brunstad Conference Centre, is the culmination of several years of major reconstruction and expansion. Among the JBL VERTEC® line array elements included in the new system are 32 midsize VT4888’s, eight compact VT4887’s, and six fullsize VT4880 subwoofers. These are suspended in two main arrays and two side arrays. Additionally, six JBL MS28 speakers are used for front and stage fill, while 12 JBL SR4702X’s are used as stage monitors. Crown I-Tech™ amplifiers power the entire system, while audio control functions are handled by BSS Soundweb™ 9088ii Networked Signal Processors.

Crucial to LydRommet’s system design efforts was the JBL VERTEC Line Array Calculator software, which allowed for accurate estimations of coverage and frequency response of the loudspeaker arrays. “We are very satisfied with the resulting installation,” said Christian Wille, President of LydRommet. “The main hall has fantastic acoustics for amplified audio, and all seats now have even and precise coverage with plenty of bass punch and smooth high-fidelity response in the mid and high frequencies.”
