JBL PROFESSIONAL PROFILE - TOM 'T-BONE' EDMONDS USING THE JBL LSR28P AND LSR12P MONITORS LIVE AND IN THE STUDIO WITH LENNY KRAVITZ AND THE CULT

LOS ANGELES, CA - NOVEMBER 30, 2001 - Whether touring with Lenny Kravitz or mixing the Cult, Tom "T-Bone" Edmonds is not far from a set of JBL LSR28P Studio Monitors. Edmonds can use any monitor he wants, and he's tried them all. Now he counts on the LSR monitors not only in the studio, but for reference work in live sound reinforcement.

Edmonds is the primary live mixer for Lenny Kravitz, having worked with him on tours, for his VH-1 "Story Tellers" broadcast and Kravitz's movie Live on Planet Earth. "We're using LSRs live as well as in the studio. The LSR28Ps are set on top of the Midas XL4 with the LSR12P powered sub below. With this set up, I can tweak things without turning up the PA. When we rehearse in pre-production, I set up in a separate room from the band - my own control room with a pair of 28s and the sub."

Another recent project found Edmonds recording a session with Kravitz and Sheryl Crow in Miami using his LSR monitors.

Edmonds also recently mixed the Cult at Cherokee Recording in Los Angeles for DVD release, using the LSR28P in stereo. "I went on tour with the Cult and have recorded quite a bit with them. Andy Johns recorded the tracks for this release and I mixed the project," explained Edmonds. "After using all of the popular monitors, I find I like LSR28P better than either the Genelecs and NS10s. After using the LSR28's I'm 'all about them.' I've been telling everyone how great they are, and whenever I'm in the studio that's what I ask for. The JBLs are louder and have the protection circuit. The craftsmanship of the JBL is far superior to the other brands."

Linear Spatial Reference (LSR) monitors from JBL Professional offer power, clarity and advanced components for studio, production and live applications. The LSR28P is a bi-amplified monitor with an 8" woofer based on JBL's patented Differential Drive® technology. It is self-powered with 200 watts for the low frequencies and 70 watts for the highs. The LSR12P subwoofer is a 250 watt companion to the LSR28P with a 12" woofer and frequency range of 25 to 110 Hz.
