The
diminutive, but powerful MP410 is the smallest speaker in the
JBL Professional MPro Series of loudspeakers. Introduced with
other products in the new MPro 200 Series and 400 Series systems
at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, the MP410 is a full range
sound reinforcement speaker in a trapezoidal enclosure that measures
only 508mm (20-inch) tall. The MP410 is ideal for live sound,
club sound, rental sound companies, DJs and houses of worship.
It is also an ideal companion for the MPro MP418S and MP418SP
subwoofers.
The MP410 includes the computer-optimized high-excursion 250mm
(10-inch) JBL woofer that is conservatively rated at 300 watts
continuous noise. The high frequencies are provided by a 25mm
(1-inch) fluid-cooled compression driver with titanium diaphragm
for extended high frequency response and high power handling capability.
This driver is mounted on a 70 x 70 degree horn that is integrated
into the Laminar-Flow Baffle element. JBL's exclusive SonicGuard)
non-intrusive speaker protection protects the compression driver
from excessive peak as well as average levels.
"With the increasing use of subwoofers, a smaller format two-way
speaker makes more sense than ever. After all, the sub is doing
all the heavy bass work so why carry a larger, heavier 15-inch
system?" stated Gerry Tschetter, Director MI Marketing for JBL
Professional. "But the MP410 isn't limited to use with subwoofers.
A pair of these speakers will do a stunning job of reinforcing
speech, vocals, and instrumental performance."
At the heart of the MP410 is its Laminar Flow Baffle design,
which reduces distortion and diffraction by providing smooth,
rounded surfaces. This single baffle includes the ports, the high
frequency horn and mounting ring for the 250mm (10-inch) transducer.
The baffle is constructed of SMC (sheet molding compound), a durable
thermoplastic also used in automobile body panels. The baffle
is mounted on a Duraflex(tm) covered trapezoidal enclosure built
of durable 18 mm seven-ply plywood using tongue and groove joint
construction. A built-in precision-engineered crossover allows
optimal power response and performance in the critical midrange
frequencies.
The input panel utilizes high quality Neutrik® Speakon®
NL-4 inputs for secure and reliable connections. Other features
include:
- Attractive
16-gauge perforated steel grill to protect components and transducers.
- A
top mounted steel carrying handle.
- A
35mm pole mount receptacle for easy positioning above subwoofer
or other speaker.
- The
MP410 measures 338mm (13.3") wide by 508mm (20") tall
by 300mm (11.8") deep. Its frequency range is 60Hz to 16kHz.
