MPro MP255S Dual 15" Subwoofer

The MPro 200 Series MP255S Subwoofer is an innovative dual 15-inch (380mm) subwoofer that is the ideal companion for other MPro speakers such as the MP215. The MP255S, which can be positioned vertically or horizontally, is a dual tuned band pass enclosure. The dual bandpass design allows for extremely high-level low frequency output from a box that is the most compact in its class, at 527mm (20 3/4-inch) wide.

Two newly designed JBL 380mm (15-inch) M115-8A transducers provide 500 watts of power handling at frequencies ranging from 34Hz to 200 Hz. A low pass filter is provided, so the MP255S can perform well even when bi-amplification is not used.

"Purchasers of a subwoofer such as the MP255S are likely to expand a system one piece at a time. It's a big investment to add a subwoofer, an extra amp, and an electronic crossover all at once, explained Gerry Tschetter, Director of MI Marketing. "The bandpass design of the MP255S combined with the internal Low Pass Filter means it will work quite well even if it's just plugged into the same amp already being used for the mid / high system. Then when the owner is ready for the next step, they can add a separate subwoofer amp for even better performance and control."

The MP255S also has several design features that aid versatility, durability and easy transport:

Dual Neutrik® Speakon® NL-4 connectors for a secure connection. These connectors can be easily reconfigured for pin 1 or pin 2 for compatibility with various cabling schemes.

Four heavy duty casters are mounted on the rear of the enclosure for easy transport. A 45degree corner notch aids in easily taking the subwoofer from transport to user positions.

Durability and longevity are further assured by the carpet covered 18 mm plywood enclosure built with tongue and groove joints, heavy duty steel grille, steel carrying handles, steel 3-inch casters and impact resistent front plates. Each MP255S is shipped with a 610mm (24-inch) pole which fits in the 35mm hole atop the speaker for holding a satellite speaker. The MP255S measures (in vertical position) 950mm (37.4-inch) tall by 527mm (20.75-inch) wide and 940mm (37-inch) deep (including casters).
