MPRO MP215 FROM JBL PROFESSIONAL OFFERS AFFORDABLE QUALITY IN A 15-INCH TWO-WAY SPEAKER SYSTEM

JBL Professional has introduced an extensive new line of performance loudspeakers named the MPro Series. These speakers bring professional standards to price ranges generally reserved for lesser ability speakers. The MPro 200 Series is ideal for live sound, clubs, DJs, houses of worship, and rental sound providers.

The MPro 200 Series model MP215 loudspeaker from JBL Professional is a compact, powerful 15-inch two way speaker system in a trapezoidal plywood cabinet covered with a rugged carpet finish. The MP215 is ideal as a full range front-of-house speaker. It is also compact enough to be easily transported. As with all MPro speakers, the MP215 has a receptacle for pole mounting above a subwoofer such as the MPro MP255S.

The newly designed JBL M115-8A 380mm (15-inch) low-frequency driver has an edge-wound voice coil for high power handling and maximum output. The 25mm (one-inch) JBL compression driver, with a titanium diaphragm, is mounted to the horn that is integral to the patent-pending SMC Laminar-Flow Baffle™ element. This is a single-piece that integrates horn, ports, baffle and woofer mounting. The smooth, rounded contours of the baffle and seamless one-piece structure reduce turbulence and diffraction effects for reduced distortion.

The dark gray, carpeted enclosure is built of 18mm plywood using tongue and groove construction for durability and years of service. The popular trapezoidal shape allows several cabinets to be placed at splayed angles for broader coverage. Heavy duty steel handles are ergonomically positioned for easy handling and the 16 gauge steel grill offers protection to the speaker components and baffle.

The MP215's internal passive crossover provides optimized power response and performance in the critical midrange frequency region. JBL's SonicGuard™ circuit protects the high frequency driver from excess power without interrupting the performance or changing the sound. For input flexibility, a combination of Neutrik® Speakon® NL-4 and standard 6.3mm (1/4-inch) connectors are available.

The MP215's power capacity is 250 watts (8 ohms nominal impedance), with a frequency range of 55Hz to 16kHz (-10dB). The two-way MP215 measures 466mm (18 3/8-inch) wide by 723mm (28 1/2-inch) tall by 347mm (13 5/8-inch) deep.
