NORTHRIDGE, CA - December 21, 2001 - JBL Professional and MARS Music joined forces this summer for the “Experience the Power” Sweepstakes with a grand prize of a 2002 Harley Davidson Heritage Softail motorcycle. The three-month promotion, to support the launch of the new JBL MPro speaker line, concluded on December 4th with the grand prize presentation to winner, Gary Lloyd.

Attending the grand prize presentation were Charles Miles, Pro Audio/DJ Buyer for MARS Music, Larry LeVan, MARS General Manager, Paul Furtkamp, JBL Professional Eastern Regional Sales Director, and Jerry Silhavy, Millar Electronics (JBL Professional representative). “The promotion was a great success - an excellent way to drive traffic in the MARS stores to see and hear the new MPro line,” stated Furtkamp. “We’re all very pleased.”

Each MARS store received promotional materials including an entry box, counter card, entry forms, and banner to place in the pro-audio department to promote the sweepstakes. MARS shoppers could enter at any MARS store simply by “experiencing the power” of MPro. MARS also promoted the sweepstakes in their monthly catalog, further driving traffic to the stores.

The grand prize was a 2002 Harley Davidson Heritage Softail motorcycle. Grand prize winner, Gary Lloyd opted for the cash value. “I’ve never won anything like this before,” said a very excited Lloyd at the prize presentation ceremony, held at the Birmingham, Alabama MARS store where he entered. The first prize, a JBL Simply Cinema System, was awarded to Robert Musquiz, Jr. of San Antonio, TX. Barbara McCardell in Conowingo, MD won the second prize, a pair of JBL LSR25P powered monitors.
