JBL Cinema in Germany

JBL PROFESSIONAL 4000 SERIES CINEMA SOUND SYSTEMS:
THE SOUND OF CONTINUED GROWTH IN GERMANY'S MULTIPLEX MARKETPLACE

As Germany's multiplex cinema marketplace continues to develop, the number of key chains that select JBL Professional cinema sound systems grows concomitantly, as seen by the recent installation of multiple JBL systems at new CineMaxX multiplex sites in Darmstadt and Trier and Hamburg-Harburg.

CineMaxx's Darmstadt facility features 8 theaters, each outfitted with JBL surround sound systems that incorporate behind-the-screen loudspeakers and subwoofers from JBL's Cinema 4000 Series with surround components from the JBL Cinema 3000 Series. In fact, the multiplex situated in Darmstadt's bustling entertainment district uses a total of 12 JBL 4670 speakers, 12 JBL 4675 speakers, 16 4645C subwoofers, 96 JBL 8330A surrounds, 24 JBL 3310 surrounds and additional components from the JBL Control Contractor Series. The system, which was installed by leading German cinema industry acoustic design and installation firm Kinoton, was completed last month.

Kinoton was also responsible for the sound system design and installation at CineMaxX Trier outlet, where again the company turned to JBL's proven performance and reliability. Here, KinoTon selected and installed 12 JBL 4670 speakers, nine JBL 4675 speakers, 16 JBL4645 subwoofers, six JBL 3678 speakers and 16 JBL 4645C subwoofers. The seven-screen Trier multiplex features 84 JBL 8330 surrounds and 22 JBL 8340 surrounds.

Kinoton, from Germering, near Munich, also installed a similar configuration of JBL components at the eight-screen CineMaxX multiplex in Hamburg-Harburg. This facility features 15 JBL 4670 front systems, nine JBL 4675 front systems, 16 JBL4645 subwoofers, 75 JBL 8330 surrounds and 20 JBL 8340A.

According to Doug Daniel, JBL Professional Director of Sales, Europe, much of JBL's success in the German marketplace is a result of the consistent reliability and performance of JBL offerings in the marketplace. "Cinema Sound is all about delivering upon the chain's promise to their customers," Daniel explained. "The complete JBL cinema sound systems line allows designers/installers to do exactly that - which means that the German cinema-goer gets to enjoy only the highest performing sound each and every time they visit our customers' cinemas."
