GUITAR CENTER DRIVES OFF WITH A WIN

NORTHRIDGE, CA - JANUARY 17, 2002 - JBL Professional and Guitar Center partnered to promote their Toyota Truck Give-Away Sweepstakes. Throughout the month of October, Guitar Center shoppers entered the sweepstakes at Guitar Center Stores nationwide for the chance to win the Grand Prize Toyota Tacoma truck. Andrew Nall of Englewood, Colorado was drawn from over 4000 entries as the sweepstakes winner.

The 2002 Toyota Tacoma was presented to Andrew Nall and his wife at a ceremony held at the Englewood, Colorado Guitar Center store on December 12, 2001. Attending the truck presentation were Jon Peirson, JBL Professional Western Regional Sales Director, Steve Johnson and Josh Bartunek, HP Marketing (JBL Professional Representatives), and Jamie Adams, Guitar Center Store Manager.

The one-month promotion was aimed at increasing customer traffic in Guitar Center locations. "It's important to give customers a quality product, but it's just as important to get them in the store to hear and test that product," explained Tom Weeber, Vice President of US Sales for JBL Professional. "This promotion achieved that goal."

The sweepstakes was fully backed with Guitar Center advertising support. Not only was in-store signage used in the pro-audio department of Guitar Center stores, but the promotion was advertised in national radio spots and the Guitar Center October Buyers Guide Direct Mail piece (mailed to 950,000 addressees). To further drive traffic into the stores, the promotion was announced on Guitar Center's website and on Guitar Center's "on hold" phone music.
