Utilizing two new horn designs--60°x60° and 120°x60°--these nine new models expand the AE
Series to 31 total models.
AMSTERDAM, The Netherlands – JBL Professional is introducing nine new loudspeaker models to its AE
(Application Engineered) Series, raising the total count of models in the AE Series to 31. These nine new highoutput,
lightweight AM7000 Series models include: the AM7212/64, AM7212/66, AM7212/95, AM7212/00,
AM7212/26, AM7215/64, AM7215/66, AM7215/95 and AM7215/26.
These new 2-way, full-range systems add flexibility to integrators’ design capabilities by providing two new horn
coverage patterns, 60°x60° and 120°x60°. The group includes five 12-inch, 2-way models and four 15-inch, 2-
way models. All models utilize JBL’s patented Differential Drive® dual 3-inch voice coil and dual gap woofers.
The high-frequency section utilizes the new 1.5-inch exit, 3-inch diaphragm 2432H compression driver. All
models utilize large mouth rotatable Progressive Transition™ waveguides for precise directivity control. These
rotatable waveguides allow the loudspeaker to be used in either the vertical or horizontal orientation
maintaining the intended horn coverage pattern.
As with all AE Series loudspeakers, these models are constructed with multi-ply birch and are finished in JBL’s
rugged DuraFlex™ coating. Each trapezoid enclosure is heavily braced to maximize low-frequency
performance, is fitted with fifteen M10 threaded attachment points, and utilizes a 14-gauge steel grille internally
lined with acoustically transparent foam to provide additional driver protection and giving a professional
appearance. Input cups are fitted with screw terminals and a Neutrik® NL4 connector.
All nine models utilize a sophisticated high-slope passive crossover network designed to provide seamless
transitions from low to high frequency and minimize band overlap. Well-controlled off-axis response enhances
arrayability. Each model is shipped in its passive configuration and is user-configurable for bi-amplification.
All AE Series loudspeakers are designed specifically for the installation market. Applications include: theatrical
sound design, auditoriums, worship facilities, live clubs, dance clubs, sports facilities, convention centers, and
themed entertainment venues.
“Over the past two years JBL has introduced eight new AE
Compact 2-way systems, five new AE Series subwoofer
systems, nine new AE Series mid-power 2-way systems, and
now these nine new AE Series high-output systems, all 31
models are intended to improve and expand the capabilities
of audio system designers worldwide,” said Jon Sager,
Director of Market Development for Installed Sound, JBL
Professional. “JBL engineers and product development
personnel take a great deal of pride in the development of
quality loudspeakers systems for use in the installed sound
market. Through continued technological improvements and
expanded product application capabilities, JBL continues its
leadership role within this market segment.”
