David Scheirman, Director
of Tour Sound for JBL Professional stated, “VERTEC systems
are becoming the global industry standard for use on high-profile
televised events ranging from
the Miss Universe Pageant to the Academy Awards to the MTV Video
Music Awards, and for concert touring with artists ranging from
to Bruce Springsteen to David Bowie to Toby Keith to Eric Clapton.
With the VT4887, JBL wanted to expand the tools and solutions
available for use by sound reinforcement professionals in small
to medium-sized venues by introducing a smaller lighter enclosure.
Whether used by our customers as a
stand-alone array system or in conjunction with other system
models in the VERTEC product line, we’re very pleased to
see the rapid acceptance of this high-performance, flexible system
for both portable and permanent-installation use in entertainment
venues, theaters and houses of worship.”
The VT4887 has already
shown its flexibility in use on projects ranging from frontfills
for Peter Gabriel’s North American
tour as deployed by Audiotek/Firehouse Productions, to satellite
arrays for General Motors’ dealer conferences as fielded
by Onstage Audio, to downfills in ProMix’s system for Radio
City Music Hall’s Christmas Music Spectacular. In addition
the VT4887 has recently been selected for prestigious installations
like Walt Disney Concert Hall, the United States Air Force’s
Museum of Flight, and Purdue University’s Elliott Hall
of Music.
