HARMAN’s JBL Professional Control 25AV-LS Loudspeaker Receives EN 54 Part 24 Certification

LONDON, United Kingdom – HARMAN’s JBL Professional today announced that its popular Control 25AV-LS loudspeaker has been approved for EN 54 part 24 certification as part of HARMAN Professional’s ongoing program to ensure its products are compliant with European EN 54 standards.

JBL’s Control 25AV-LS (LS for “life safety”) has already been widely used for high-performance distributed systems that are also used for life safety purposes in the US and around the world. The EN 54 certification is in addition to UL1480-UUMW life safety certification.

Rick Kamlet, JBL Senior Marketing Manager for Commercial Installed Sound, commented: “As a high-performance, high output, 2-way loudspeaker with wide bandwidth and extremely smooth frequency response, the Control 25AVLS is ideal for distributed applications requiring both professional speaker performance and EN54 certification.”

“Control® Contractor series speakers have long been established as some of the most robust products available,” Kamlet added. “The EN54 certification on this model allows us to continue bringing high-performance standards to our European customers.”

The product test and certification program was undertaken in England by the world-renowned British Standards Institute (BSI). This product and JBL’s Northridge, California facility have been awarded BSI’s prestigious “Kitemark” accreditation as part of the qualification process.

The EN 54 directive establishes standards of intelligibility and environmental longevity for products used in voice alarm systems within the European Union.

By acquiring EN 54 certification, HARMAN Professional puts into action its commitment to support its customers’ needs for high-quality audio for sporting facilities, airports, transit facilities, and other public venue distributed systems worldwide.
