MASQUE SOUND, VETERAN RENTAL FIRM,
PURCHASES VERTEC® LINE ARRAY SYSTEM
FROM JBL PROFESSIONAL

NEW YORK, NEW YORK, October 7, 2005— Further establishing JBL Professional’s VERTEC® series as the leading line array speakers in the rental sound industry, sound design and reinforcement vendor Masque Sound has recently purchased a new VERTEC line array system, with 36 VT4888 midsize line array enclosures delivered in the first order. Rapidly approaching its 70th anniversary, the East Rutherford, NJ-based Masque Sound has maintained its leadership position in live sound with recent concert tours for Hilary Duff, Jesse McCartney, Kevin Spacey and other top artists, as well as Broadway, broadcast, concert and corporate productions by keeping ahead of the technology curve.

Commenting on Masque Sound’s significant investment in JBL VERTEC line array speakers, company vice president Geoff Shearing remarked, “We’ve been JBL fans for many years. Our philosophy has always been to give the customer what they need as well as what they want.”

Masque Sound’s deployment plans for the new VERTEC VT4888 speaker inventory have it scheduled for use at a major corporate production in Las Vegas in mid-October. “We’ve had numerous requests for the VT4888’s, and after looking into them we were convinced that they were a worthwhile investment,” Shearing added. “These are extremely practical speakers. They’re lightweight, rugged, easy to rig and they sound great.”

“All of us at JBL are honored to have Masque Sound, one of the world’s leading and best-known theatrically-oriented sound companies, as our newest VERTEC system customer,” commented David Scheirman, Vice President, Tour Sound, JBL Professional. “The synergy of JBL’s industry-leading loudspeaker system technology with the unique technical expertise of Masque Sound, their multiple service locations, and their star-studded client base, creates interesting new options for independent sound designers who cater to musical-theater and corporate events. This is a relationship that our companies mutually expect to enjoy for many years to come.”

The VERTEC VT4888 midsize line array element is a dual 12-inch, three-way design offering full-range performance in a road-ready package weighing only 108 pounds, including integral suspension hardware. VT4888 arrays are suitable for a broad range of sound reinforcement applications in moderately-sized auditoriums, theaters, concert clubs, convention centers and public entertainment spaces.
