ELKHART, Indiana – SOUND.COM, one of India’s leading Professional live sound and corporate audio rental
company, recently provided sound reinforcement for a show by rock artist Bryan Adams, held in Hyderabad,
India. HARMAN Crown I-Tech HD amplifiers and JBL VERTEC® line array loudspeakers were deployed by
SOUND.COM for an 18,000-person audience at the concert, staged in the city's HITEX Exhibition Centre. The
event was SOUND.COM’s first large-scale rock concert featuring a major, top-grossing international artist.
To meet event contract rider requirements, SOUND.COM designed a system for the show that included 30 JBL
VT4889 full size line array cabinets and 16 JBL VT4880A ultra long excursion subwoofers. The main hangs
were augmented with VT4887 compact line array elements using downfill adaptor frames, and additional
VT4887’s were used for front fills and stage side-fills along with JBL VT4880 full size arrayable subwoofers. All
loudspeakers were powered by Crown I-Tech HD 12000 amplifiers.
The system featured a HARMAN HiQnet™ System Architect™ software control and monitoring system for
amplifier management. “This advanced control network solution meant we were able to have not only general
system-level control, but a direct link to practically every speaker box connected to each individual amplifier
channel," stated SOUND.COM owner, Warren D'souza. "This was particularly useful when adjusting delay
signals to each of the subwoofers to ensure precise system alignment throughout the audience area. We always
believe in equality for all listeners, front and back,” noted D'souza.
“This was a great experience and an enjoyable one — as it was a hassle-free show with no challenges. When
you get all the fundamentals of rigging, system integration, and power distribution correct, and commit to
providing reliable, road-worthy equipment, then you can consistently deliver quality for the client and the
audience,” summarized D'souza.
Harman HiQnet™ is the world's first connectivity and control protocol that integrates all product categories in the
signal chain for professional audio systems of all types, size, and applications. Harman HiQnet no longer
requires the user to manage multiple disparate operating systems or be responsible for programming individual
signal processors, speaker controllers, wireless microphone systems, and mixing consoles. HiQnet was
developed by engineers from across Harman’s Professional Division and is coordinated by the System
Development and Integration Group (SDIG), a team of dedicated systems specialists based in Salt Lake City,
Utah.
