1999 Pro Audio Review "Best Gear of the Decade" Category: Sound Reinforcement Loudspeaker System Honorees include: JBL HLA Pro Audio Review evaluates audio products for professionals in the fields of commercial recording, broadcast production, audio for video/film, project studios, live sound, contracting and multimedia. A special "End of the Century" industry review rated the best sound products of the decade.

1998 ETA (Entertainment Technology Award) Sponsored by Live!, DJ, and Disco International Magazine Live Section Category: Best P.A. Loudspeaker Winner: JBL HLA On Sunday, September 6th 1998, history was made. Three publications, Live!, DJ and Disco International, leaders in their respective markets, joined forces to produce the world's most definitive entertainment technology awards. Audio and lighting equipment in both Live and Install divisions were honored.

1997 TEC (Technical Excellence & Creativity) Award Sponsored by MIX Magazine Category: Best Sound Reinforcement Loudspeaker Technology Winner: JBL Professional HLA Series Since 1985, the annual TEC Award Ceremony has honored the best people, institutions and products in the professional recording and sound reinforcement industries. Held each year during the Audio Engineering Society Convention, this prestigious event helps to fund scholarship programs within the industry, and donates funds to charitable organizations that work in the field of deafness and hearing disabilities.
