SVG™ Transducers: 2227 and 2242

The Super Vented Gap™ (SVG) line of low frequency transducers takes the patented Vented Gap Cooling™ (VGC) heat dissipation process one step further.  A completely new motor structure design extends the pole piece above and below the top plate to improve gap flux symmetry and increase thermal conductivity from the voice coil to the pole piece.

In addition to the benefits of Symmetrical Field Geometry™, these transducers also incorporate a copper shorting ring that is imbedded in the pole piece at the precise center of the gap and in close proximity to the voice coil.  This ring results in a reduction of third harmonic distortion and a reduction of voice coil inductance, which improves the transducers' transient response.

The 2227H is intended for use in applications where large amounts of low distortion, wide-band acoustical power is required, along with excellent mid-bass transient behavior.  It is ideal for use in small enclosures as well as bass and mid-bass horns.

The 2242H is ideal for use in high output subwoofer systems with bass extension to 25 Hz.  The total peak-to-peak excursion of the 2242H is 18 mm, within 10% linearity.
