hi guys. yes, we did the autin rodeo and it went particularly well. there is a small article in the works about the event.

i have 2 immediate concerns. the system needs a down-fill box t be mounted underneath the array attaching to a pair of connect bars. audio analysts uses a 1x12/2" box for this application - not unlike a floor wedge pointed down. the keeps the sound up in the air and one does not need to push so much level from a ground front-fill. i believe this configuration will be causal in preventing hearing loss from close proximity to the speakers. where to aquire this box? eddie irons from current events / Atlanta told me Audio Composite Engineering (ACE) makes a box for this application. At this time i can not locate the ACE website. the other option is for us to make this in-house. my second concern is the obvious need for damping the exterior of the 14" horn to quite the resonance problems due to the inadequate construction of the horn for the frequency area it handles. On-Q Systems is said to use a lead impregnated rubber to wrap the horn. weight: 1 or 2 lbs/sq.ft. i have this material is also found amongst car-stereo enthusiasts.

a standard amplifier configuration is a great idea. we are using macrotechs. i love the sound of them and they hold up. we switched one PA from crest 8001 to macrotech, and the change in sound quality is very noticable - fuller, warmer, sweeter. we use the omnidrive and socopex from the amp rack to neutrik NL8 on tops, neutrik NL4 on subs.

i would like to see more hla in the marketplace. it would make cross-renting easier for me.
